Spray it with this, use these markers...how is anyone to know? I will admit, I did try this myself about a year ago. Was all excited, ran out and bought Sharpies in every color, bought my mugs, decorated away. Fast forward...after baking and cooling everything just rubbed off =( I was heart broken.
After investigated I found another Pin that suggested I had bought the WRONG Sharpies...but it was too late, I had already been emotionally scarred from my first failed attempt, lol.

Just recently I saw Mrs. Roxyfur on YouTube make herself an adorable Sharpie mug, and the spirit was reborn! I ran to my local art store, bought the Sharpie OIL BASED markers (VERY important), bought my mugs....and allowed the creativity to flow =) I read so many pins saying the Oil based Sharpies work, then some saying "Sharpies" don't work...but were they using the wrong Sharpies like me? Only way to know for sure was to try again to do it myself =)

I used a Die to cut the heart out of Label Paper and stick it on the cup.....AFTER I tried about 28 times to draw my own very lopsided sad looking heart, lol. NOW I will update you on the progress after I bake, run it through the dishwasher, and use it for one week. THEN I will upload pictures on the FINAL verdict on whether this works or not (Hint: So far so good). My HOPE is to be able to make some for my daughters teachers...personalize them and fill them with candy for Valentine's Day. However, before i give them as a GIFT I want to be dang sure nothing is going to flake off or fade away after 3 washes. Let the testing begin.....Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01861071448444469824noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722429393554024706.post-145374260219858612014-08-31T09:18:00.001-07:002014-08-31T09:41:08.954-07:00Faber-Castell Gelatos® Palette & Swatch SheetAs much as I love my Gelatos, I also love my travel palettes. I searched the internet for some kind of Gelatos color chart or swatch sheet and couldn't find anything. So I decided to make my own =)

You will find a link to my video - HERE showing the Palette and explaining a bit about it, as well as the pages so you can make your own Palette/Swatch pages.

I am a huge fan of the the Ellen Hutson Peerless Watercolor palette and wanted my Gelatos palette to match that one so all my palette could be best friends, lol. Since there are 40 Peerless watercolor colors in the bonus pack and 40 Gelatos in total (including the bonus packs), it was a marriage made in heaven =) I have put a link to the Ellen Hutson Peerless watercolor palette video - HERE. Please check it out and follow the same directions when creating your Gelatos palette since I created mine to go together the same way.

To download the Gelato charts just click the image to make it full sized, then right click and save image. Easy Peasy! Hope you enjoy =)
It pays to keep your eyes peeled at the dollar store these days =) This is one of my favorite stamp sets for watercoloring.
I used my regular Strathmore watercolor paper and Peerless Watercolors to color the image. Paper is Echo Park - Country Drive and the Sentiment is from my 1 year anniversary set from the Stamps Of Life club (link of the sidebar). The set is not for sale but Simon Says Stamp makes some very pretty Thank You stamp sets.
The dies and paper are from PaperTrey Ink's movers & shakers kit which is sadly no longer available, but you can easily recreate this look using any number of fabulous dies out there =)
The image I used in the center is a digital stamp from 2CuteInk and you can find her Etsy store here - https://www.etsy.com/shop/2CuteInk Lots and lots of super cute images for card making!
I LOVE him, lol. I also love shaker cards, so how could I resist =)
I colored him (badly I might add) using my copics. That's what you get for trying to color AND watch the Real Housewives, lol.

Dies are from PaperTreyInk's Shaker kit that is no longer
available...sorry...but I am SURE you can get the same look using other
dies. Paper was from Jilllibean soup - Sweet & Sour Soup, and Echo Park - This & That. I adore this stamp, and how to make many more Parker cards =)
There is nothing I love more than when a stamp set or die can have a dual purpose! The moment I saw the strawberries2stamp set from the Stamps Of Life stamp club... I KNEW I was doing a Halloween card with them!
The patterned paper is a Recollections paper pack I picked up on clearance from Micheal's last year but any Halloween paper would look cute I'm sure, and the spider is just hand drawn using my pitt pen marker =) Face stamps are by AlleyWay Stamps - FACE IT, and the sentiment is from My Creative Time - Treats For My Sweet Stamp Set
She has several adorable stamp sets and I own and love ALL of them....except Critter Christmas, which I totally plan to pick up before I start making my Christmas cards this year! The bee, the yellow hive background inside the shaker, and the sentiment, where all stamped from that set.

Paper I used is from Echo Park - Country Drive, which couldn't have been more perfect for this card, and the Hello was part of a cut file from the Silhouette store - Design ID #43768....which I covered in diamond Stickles to add some sparkle.

If you have not heard of them, they are press on manicures you can buy pretty much anywhere (I get mine at Walmart). After going through dozens of nail polish types in an effort to keep my nails from constantly chipping....I came across a video on YouTube of a girl talking about these imPRESS nails.

Now I had not heard of press on nails since back in the day where LEE press on's were the thing.......and we all know how great those were, lol. However....this girl was making them look pretty good.....so why not? I grabbed myself a pack the next time I was in Walmart, and never looked back! Many, MANY packs later...I am in love!

They come in these cute little plastic nail polish bottles, and an array of adorable and sophisticated designs. They are as easy as peel and stick....BUT if you are like me and use your nails as basically an extension of your fingers.....washing dishes, opening pop cans, and just generally abusing your nails all day long...I DO suggest giving them even MORE added strength by picking up a bottle of Broadway Jet Dry nail glue. Peel your sticky tab off the back of the nail, add a drop of glue to your real nail....apply the imPRESS nail, press and hold for a few seconds....and they are good as GOLD! I have worn mine for up to 2 weeks doing all kinds of things and they were flawless.

I also signed up for the Influenster Box (they send you free products to try from various companies and it's awesome) and was selected to receive a box last month. WELL....imagine my squeal of delight when I opened my box and saw not one....but 2 boxes of imPRESS nails!! It was like Christmas, lol. One of the packs was from the new Disney Villains line (picture below), which I had never heard of....but I assume it is tied to the new Maleficent movie. The color is gorgeous and I'm saving it for fall. The other one they sent me is the one I am wearing in the picture, but unfortunately there is no name on the box! It's gorgeous, and reminds me of fireworks...so I thought it's perfect for the upcoming July 1st (Canada Day). Anyway, enough raving....but if you haven't tried the imPRESS nails yet.....DO. They are fabulous and you won't regret it. Also, while you're at it....click the Influenster link up there and sign up to receive free box with great products. It's lots of fun, and a great opportunity to try out some things you may not of otherwise tried =)
My computer went BOOM...and now I am saving up so I can get a new one hopefully in the next 4 or so weeks. I'm going INSANE without my computer, lol. My blog is a mess because I was in the process of changing it and moving things around when my computer broke so it is now in a state of disarray. I have some exciting news to share and so many projects to share and get caught up on it is UN-believable. Sooo in a few weeks I should have many many videos coming you way with lots of new stuff to share. See you soon =)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01861071448444469824noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722429393554024706.post-84706434524890008642013-04-08T17:20:00.001-07:002014-06-19T08:55:50.133-07:00Just uploaded a DIY video on how you can make you own cutie Socktopus! Meet Sally the Socktopus =) Super easy to make, and she is a huge hit with the kids! I have a feeling I will be making many, many more of these. They've already been requested by all my daughters friends....not to mention a few adults, lol. I personally would like to adorn my craft room with a whole family of these cuties. I plan to use child sized socks to make mini socktopuses, etc, etc. I can't wait to go sock shopping, lol

NOTE: If you are going to do something like this for a very young child or baby, I suggest sewing the pieces on VERY well so they can't be pulled off by tiny hands. Also cut the tentacles (legs) shorter so that they can't wrap them around their necks or anything! ♥
I just love how it looks filled with embellishments and flowers. I plan to make tons of these over the summer =) You can get a better look at it and find out the details by checking out my YouTube video (see side bar on the right)

After my handmade cameos video, I received several requests to do a video if how I paint them. I actually filmed this in January and had intentions of re-filming it using my new camera, but I decided to go ahead and upload it because I will be doing some new things using Salt Dough in up coming videos.
Anyway, hope you enjoy! =)
I created the card using My Mind's Eye Indie Chic paper, and the Tomboy Sophie Digital Stamp from SNSC. Instead of using my copics this month, I decided to break out my Neocolor II watercolor crayons and my dove blender pen! It was a little tricky but nice to try something different for a change. I hope you like her and be sure to check out Sweet Nothings Stamp Co for this and other super adorable digi stamps! =)
Handyman Lucky Stamp =) I had to challenge myself to make a "Male"
looking card, since almost everything I own is pink, lol

I
colored Lucky using my copic markers, and used was My Mind's Eye Indie
Chic - Nutmeg for the paper. The stamp is one of the Micheals dollar bin
stamps which I was so "Lucky" to find, lol. Hope you Enjoy, ♥

There is nothing I love more than digital stamps, and hers are just fantastic! Please go and check out her digi stamps (Links below), you will be so glad you did!
Today I wanted to try something a little more on the "whimsey" side. At least that's what I was aiming for, lol. I am obsessed with houses and thought what a great chance to try to incorporate one of my cute little house stamps with the adorable miss Sassy Sophie stamp! It was quite a bit of fussy cutting and layering, but .... if I do say so myself....it came out pretty cute =) Have a great Weekend!
The bottom picture is of a box card i had made for my daughters 9th birthday, and it was so much fun I wanted to do another cuter square one ( top picture ). I made as few alterations so that the card is not as bulky when folding, and I love the way it turned out =)
Tutorial for the square box card can be seen HERE
Now on to what I created…

Being that my 4 yr old will be turning 5 next weekend, I decided to make a birthday banner! I wanted it to be bright and fun, yet girly and pretty. I added some big, colorful IAR flowers to the beginning and the end of the banner, but kept the rest fairly flat so it would be easy to fold up and put away between birthdays =) Taking a picture of the banner turned out to be a bit difficult, since it is soooo long, lol. Her party will be outside in the backyard, and I will be nailing the banner somewhere but I haven't figured out where yet, lol.
The large & small scallops where cut using spellbinders dies, and the circle sandwiched in between is a coaster. The letters were cut out with my cricut using the StoryBook cartridge. Links and codes for the IAR flowers will be below =)
This week my I Am Roses project was a birdhouse and tiny mini album. Making a mini album that would fit inside the birdhouse was a challenge. 3 1/2 inches in diameter is not much space to work with, but I managed to get through it, lol. I can't say I will be doing one this small again any time soon though! However, I Am Roses is like the frosting on a cupcake, they add the yumminess to anything! =)
This is the last I promise =) I decided to make a cute little mini that my 4 year old could decorate "mostly" herself, and put her summer pictures in. It was created using a pair of flip flops from the dollar store, and my 2 favorite things.... I Am Roses, and Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays! I thought it was a cute idea =)
